The civic engagement and participation of citizens within the City of Ukiah’s sphere of influence, is paramount for the wellbeing of our city.
These past seven and a half years in the city council have given me the experience in the needs of our community. Hence the creation of the city’s diversity and equity committee, of which I am a member. As a Latino Council Member, the Ukiah residents have a better representation of its population ever since I was elected close to eight years ago. There is more employee diversity in our city staff. I bring a distinct perspective to the city council. I have been a board member of several local organizations concerned with the safety and wellbeing of our citizens. The future and wellbeing of our youth is especially important to me, as should be to all of us. Their participation, suggestions and ideas can be immensely helpful in shaping their future as citizens. It is not enough to claim you stand for all citizens. A leader must understand and know those citizens he or she stands for.
I will remain accountable to the Ukiah Citizens. I ask for your vote to be the voice that can bring us together.
